About Rob
I am a 22 year old web programmer and amateur photographer from White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Most people would say that I'm addicted to the internet, and I spend most of my time there. I own and maintain several websites, including that of a small business that I started in January of 2005, Hostfury.net, from which I sell web hosting.
I work for Target Corporation at the store level, working in Assets Protection [Security] at the Lake Street Target store. When I'm not working my regular job I am most often online dealing with my current and potential clients. Fixing various problems with the server and undoing the mistakes of others.
This website and the domain that it resides at is the latest in a long line of domains that I have used for my personal webspace for blogging and photography over the years. After starting my first website on Yahoo! Geocities back in 1999, I have used many different hosting providers and many domains to share my thoughts and work. Most recently, fury.hm and releasethefury.net provided most of my web presence, but I decided that at some point, you need to get away from your web handle and maintain a (somewhat) professional appearance on the internet. My handle has been Fury for a very long time, and to a lot of people know me only by that name; but now with this new domain, robmonroe.net, I can present all of my work in one place and maintain a professional image while still having a personal touch.
My Flickr page displays some of the pictures that I have taken with my Samsung Pro815, along with my Canon PowerShot SD630, and before that an Aiptek IS-DV1000 camera. After I purchased the SD630 I started getting very interested in photography and started to carry it with me nearly everywhere I went. I eventually upgraded to the Pro815 and I shoot anything and everything if it appeals to me.
Recently I began developing more of an interest for PHP and have since started to build more advanced websites utilizing PHP and MySQL. I am constantly creating new projects and continuing to improve old ones as my knowledge and skill of PHP develops.
